Any vintage Watch that has had the case taken apart to modify or replace crystals should no be used in water. Even with 50 year old vintage watches that have never been opened / taken apart, I assume they are no longer waterproof, and you should assume the same. Waterproofing is not guaranteed and depends on your watches condition, it’s parts, it’s caseback, bezel, crystal & winder seals, and most importantly your watchmakers skills. You should use a professional watchmaker to carry out modifications and he / she may need to use special tools and adhesives to press the watch back together.
