Fresh from the estate of a retired Swiss-trained watchmaker, a genuine American-made Hampden pocket watch movement. This particular High-grade offering hails from 1901 and is running strongly. It has been keeping time for the last 3 hours without any noticeable loss or gain in time. However, without a service history we do not know how accurate it is/will continue to be, so it is sold as is. The watch is high-grade for the time and features 15-Jewels and an upgraded Hampden Star regulator. While 15 Jewels does not sound like much today - when 17 jewels is standard, in 1901 it was not uncommon to have a movement without ANY jewels! 3 or 7 jewels was considered a good entry watch, so obviously having 15 was high-grade.
